The turkey was delicious,
Brisket, in our mouth… did melt!
    Now sending these holiday greetings
with love … so truly felt.

Yes, the holidays are upon us,
Little ones say, “naughty n’ nice”,
We all could take a lesson, but…
I’ll not give you any advice.

Thinking about the year behind us,
    “Recovery” comes to my mind.
    “Storms” … there were a plenty …
Then the “sun” would begin to shine’

An example is the “Spivey farm”,
Last fall Hurricane Helene did blow,
prayed for loved ones in Valdosta,
the outcome … we did not know.

    That farm…finally divided,
becomes a blessing for all that crew,
    Recovery from years of questions,
Brings blessings … fresh and new.

But life is often like that,
    Anxiousness followed by relief.
    Or maybe even “doubting”,
    … is followed by “belief”!

    Looking back over the years,
and these greetings that we sent,
our history has been like that,
     wherever our pathway went.

So now for the current news,
    What did this family do?
    Certainly, we were busy
and just like each year …it flew!

    Colin and Magan were busy,
at programing n’ teaching they stick.
    While Grayson & Elizabeth
growing up strong and oh so very quick!

    Brent and Stephanie… my my,
It is days so full… schedules to keep,
Really great when it is beach time,
    or Sophia n’ Will … are …asleep!

    Ryan and lovely Amanda
with no kids of theirs to chase,
but his work at Northwest Christian
    demands a lively pace.

Our children, as we call them,
now into “middle age” they fall,
Show little signs of slowing down...
    and “grandparenting” is their call.

    Russ and Janet, though retired,
you would not believe their days!
    Keeping the farm a’ going,
Ha! … Retired? … No way!

Pine beetles, a pest – destructive!
n’ the wind comes roaring around,
    Gets them into “lumberjacking”,
And a new job they have found.

Cindi and Keith, now very busy,
    their Alabama place takes time,
    A major building constructed
And it looks “oh so very fine!”

Now “recovery” for us “old folks”
goes slow … on most of these days.
Physical therapy helps us get there,
but it is work … and not play!

It is not “work” to remember you,
And to pray… if “recovery” you need,
You are remembered by this family!
And may God bless you… indeed!

    As the new year approaches,
and on the future your eyes are fixed,
We pray for the happiest new year,
and a great two thousand twenty-six!
